Read enough of these and a pattern shows up: the location gets a line, the breakfast gets a paragraph, and Jay and Jenn get the rest.
Jay and Jenn are some of the kindest and most generous people you will meet. They run a beautiful inn with exceptional service. The breakfast is phenomenal; yummy omelets with garden fresh veggies and delicious homemade jam.
Jay and his team really make you feel like you are at home. The service was fantastic, I recommend getting the breakfast — it was a large cook up feast that I still think about. I strongly recommend staying here, and it is within walking distance to the shopping in Freeport.
A beautiful and comfortable Inn, where to stay while driving around Maine. Jay is a SUPER host and he made us feel like at home. The rooms were clean and lovely. For breakfast we had the luck to taste their beautiful vegetables grown in the backyard… I’m still dreaming about those potatoes, eggs and tomatoes!
We did a last minute booking with Jay for our 17-year old, who was attending a Bates College soccer camp. Jay made sure that our son was well taken care of and kept us updated. Our son enjoyed his stay at the Applewood. The location is 5 star. I would give Jay a 7-star for hospitality!
We stayed one night before an LL Bean weekend event. Jay was very welcoming and made sure we had anything we needed. The pillows were huge and fluffy as were the towels. Much better than a chain hotel for a better price! Happy to recommend this place.
This is an amazing Inn. Jay made sure to make our stay memorable. The room I was in was beautiful, roomy, comfortable. Home cooked breakfast every morning. The location is wonderful, as you are in walking distance to everything.
We absolutely loved our stay. Jen & Jay were the perfect combination of attentive while allowing us our privacy. Breakfast was deliciously made to order, but the company and conversation really made our stay. Always ready with a recommendation, the innkeepers were just wonderful.
The rooms are sleek, stylish, and yet comfy, cozy, and inviting. You walk into their rooms and you go, oh, what a comfy room… A few steps through the back yard, and you’re in the parking lot for Banana Republic. A few steps more: you’re at LL Bean! … This place is super convenient and yet it’s quiet.
The Applewood Inn is the perfect location for a visit to Freeport. Everything is within walking distance. The hosts are amazing! During our 4 day stay we truly felt like family. The Inn is extremely clean and comfortable.
Family owned and operated, The Applewood Inn is our go-to spot in Freeport, ME and has become an annual pilgrimage. For us, it’s like going “home.” Location is perfect as it’s only steps to LL Bean and the center of town. Ask for the jacuzzi suite!
Not only had spacious, tastefully decorated rooms, a comfortable bed and gorgeously updated bathrooms, it also offered a fantastic breakfast in the morning.
The Inn super clean, and tastefully decorated and conveniently located walking distance from all the shops of Freeport.
