Where you areThe whole town is a walk away
The Applewood Inn is on Holbrook Street, which runs off Main Street beside the L.L. Bean campus. Park with us, and you can leave the car alone for the rest of your stay.
250 yards to L.L. Bean
The flagship store is about 250 yards from our front walk, and the inn abuts the GAP and Reebok stores.
Beyond them are more than 170 other shops and restaurants — some of the best shopping and cuisine in the area. But shopping is only part of the fun in Freeport.

Parks, trails and the water
Parks & trails
Four state and town parks are close by. Hike Bradbury Mountain State Park, walk the shore trails at Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park, or walk the water’s edge at Winslow Park.
A small beach
One of those four parks has a small beach area on it — a quiet alternative to a shopping afternoon when the weather turns good.
On the water
South Freeport Village puts waterfront dining a short drive away, on the working edge of Casco Bay.
The Desert of Maine
A few minutes outside town, and one of the odder things you can go and look at in New England.

Well placed in both directions
We are fortunate to be located close to Kennebunkport and southern Maine, as well as Boothbay Harbor and the Downeast region.
The places we have been pointing guests at for years: Portland, the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine, and the Desert of Maine just outside town.
